There are very few things I managed to see pre-BC. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I really was quite clueless when it came to real raiding. Sure, I saw Kara, but I doubt many could call a 10man raid, even a real raid. Especially once the nerf bat came pre-Wrath, Kara was nerfed so badly that people were 2manning the place.

One of the many reasons I signed up for a progression raid was to see as much of the new content as I could. And so I am.

Unfortunately there’s one small side effect that I never took into account when I signed up for all this. I never realized how much of a time and gold sink raiding would be. Yes, I realize it seems obvious now — wiping over and over to learn a new boss obviously isn’t going to be cheap. But it isn’t just that — consumables — flasks in particular, really add up.

Oh and resist gear, did i mention resist gear? Yep, need that too. 3 pieces of resist gear, Polar boots, Polar Chord and Polar Vest, 1100g out the door at the current AH prices. Granted, I could, and should, have farmed the mats for those but between running around due to holiday stuff and whatever, I haven’t had as much time for that as I’d have liked.

But, there is an upside to all this. Or at least eventually I’ll see one. Getting those bosses down and being part of a group that is consistantly well geared and competant is nice.
