Wrath of the Lich King, Day Two

Fun times! Fun times indeed. So what’s on the agenda today you might ask? Utgarde Keep, Questing and more Utgarde. Starting to really like Utgarde actually — with a good group the place is easily do-able in about 30mins or so and is a good xp for time tradeoff.

So, I ran Utgarde Keep a few times early today just to get a feel for the instance and see how fast I could get it done with a PUG. Truthfully, I enjoy PUGs. The reasoning behind it, is that with a PUG you get a complete group of strangers who know nothing about eachother’s play style and it adds a new element of challenge. Even more so with a new instance, the challenge not only becomes whether or not the instance can be done, but whether or not the team can work together. Besides, any tank who is able to tank a shitty pug, can more than tank a guild run :)

So, run one took us around 1h. Really crappy. But all in all, conisidering the dps wasn’t quite where it should have been and we started out with an enhance shaman healing (who later got dropped when we decided there was no way in hades he’d be able to heal through the bossfights) and a 2nd tank (a prot paladin) who didn’t do nearly as much as a 5th dps would have. No wipes, so-so drops.

The next two runs went awesome. We started off run number 2 with 31 minutes, start to finish, chain pulling the entire instance. Awesome tanking (heh), awesome dps, awesome heals. Unfortunately the group wasn’t interested in running another time so we had to wait around a bit until we made a third group.

Hoping for the best, and to beat the 2nd run’s time, we started again through the instance. 29 minutes. Start to finish. I was quite pleased to say the least.

Quested a bit more into the afternoon and ding’d 71. Was kinda hoping to get a bit more done today but I just didn’t have the time for it.

In the evening, Resolve decided to do a guild run of The Nexus. Interesting place. It seemed like a bit of a mix of instances and all in all it went quite well. The layout of the instance is a bit confusing though, at least when we first started it. We lost our Warlock (afk’d I guess) and cleared the instance totally with 4 people. All in all, good times.
