jason kottke just emailed me to ask me to help (w)get some stuff he posted. tons of great audio version of articles. great for the iPod.

this one requires wget which can be found here.

wget -r -np -nd -A.mp3 -P NewYorkerAudio http://assistivemedia.org/mp3/

-r is recursive, obviously (means that it slurps the whole directory)
-np means no parent directories will be gotten
-nd means no subdirectories will be made in the local directory
-A.mp3 means only accept files ending in .mp3
-P NewYorkerAudio means put the files into a directory of that name

this is a recursive wget and i just set it up, haven’t really even examined the site yet, so this may be getting the other archival articles that kottke is talking about
Update: it’s 303 files! so be prepared for this to take a while.

if anybody out there has stuff they want cURLed or wgotten, they can feel free to AIM me at ’superdeluxo’ or the webmaster at “games12112″ (though i tend to think most people that would use wget or cURL know them better than i do). i can’t give out carth’s AIM yet cause he’s our supersecret weapon. and of course we’re always looking for authors to post their finds here.
